Well after having some problems on the last activations..
prep work is to be started for the next visit to the Outer Hebrides

Places of interest that will be activated are:

EU-010 Isle of North Uist + surrounding islands
EU-010 Isle of Harris (whilst waiting to get ferry)
EU-059 Island of St Kilda
(St Kilda will not be activated like a contest station, the 5/9 73 attitude is appauling)

The planned activations will be around end of June / start of July 2012

Many thanks to IK Telecom for Supporting this Expedition.

Their “W3DZZ+5” antenna worked fantastically!

Through the windy conditions on North Uist the antenna held together brilliantly, propogation and natural noise (QRN) was slightly against us but still we had great reports back with it cutting through the noise to contacts up and down the country plus those who we contacted further affield across the water,

I would Happily Recommend this antenna to anyone and everyone I come accross for either a Portable holiday or even a fixed station use,

Its very light, easy to set up and tunes perfectly

The set up i was using with this antenna was a Yaesu FT 897 with LDG AT-897 Tuner.
No problems at all tuning 80m through to 10m

The receive side of the antenna was as equal match to the transmit,
During the period of its use the antenna was held up by roach poles either end and the centre around 20ft above the ground, which showed fantastic results..

Cant say again how much I RECOMMEND this antenna

Many thanks to all the staff at IK Telecom for making a fantastic antenna

Thanks to all who contacted us over the 9 day period on North Uist,
Log Details will be added as soon as they have been typed up and uploaded,
QSL Cards have all been sent 100% so hopefully you’ll get them soon!
Special Thanks to those who spotted us on the cluster and spread the word of us being up there and also Big Thanks to Steve (2E0TZY) and Nicky (2E0NKI) for keeping the local club up-to-date with our trip
